’A top IT company is on the lookout for a Network & Infrastructure Officer, reporting to the Head, Technical Services, this role will be primarily responsible for installation and maintenance of Computer Systems and Network Infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organizations IT assets. This includes configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. This role is also responsible for telephone, data centre, security systems and other electronic infrastructure.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation.
➢ Respond promptly to network breakdowns and provide “ownership” of a problem through to final resolution.
➢ Installation of hardware and software across the organization’s network.
➢ Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
➢ Assess and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
➢ Manage and ensure the effectiveness of all servers, and their associated Operating Systems and Application Software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centres.
➢ Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on.
➢ Ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
➢ Test server and network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop recommendations for maintaining infrastructure.
➢ Ensure network connectivity throughout the organisation, LAN and WAN infrastructure is at par with technical considerations.
➢ Responsible for the setting up and maintenance of computers, printers, multifunction devices, audio-visual equipment, inverter, UPS and other hardware.
➢ Documentation of client’s infrastructure and related services
➢ Drafting network design and segmentation
➢ Delivering regular training as required by the clients
➢ Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Head, Technical Services.
Formal Education & Certification
➢ Four-year university degree or Higher National Diploma required, preferably in the field of computer science or other related academic fields
➢ 5 years of relevant work/management experience.
Knowledge & Experience
➢ 5 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
➢ Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
➢ Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery
➢ Conversant with programming languages such as .Net, PHP.
➢ Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on.
➢ Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and Telecommunications principles
➢ Experience installing network cabling and telephony systems.
